I do have a new fic that I've been putting up on Patreon for a while and I'm now getting to editing and putting up on AO3. (yes, that run-on sentence definitely inspires confidence in my fiction. :P )

It's Young Avengers, Billy/Teddy, (explicit eventually, no archive warnings apply) from the prompt 'what if Teddy was the Roswell Alien.'

So it turns out that changing antidepressants (and the subsequent slow steady depressive crash) is not conducive to managing more than one social media presence at a time. Oops? Anyway, I live. I'm back, and hopefully more alive. Hi, y'all!

End of term ARGH phase is almost over. I have an edited manuscript to finish up and return, and 12 papers left to mark. I can do this.

Everything got derailed earlier this week when I caught a student with the wikipedia-copy-paste routine. And not just wikipedia, but the Encyclopedia Britannica, and the Met museum, and a handful of other websites. At that point, I'm all... dude. Just put in the quotation marks and the footnotes and call it a crappy essay instead. I really don't get why they go to so much trouble to pull off a cheat, when it would probably be a lot less work to actually write the goddamned paper in the first place.

And naturally it turns out that they've been busted for things like this before, which means the entire case has to get escalated to the senate, get presented to a tribunal by the Academic Honesty officer, etc etc. ugh.

This is really not what I wanted to spend my time on.

I've never created a community on Dreamwidth before, but the only Young Avengers chat comm hasn't been used since 2013. What's the etiquette involved there -- resurrect that, or start a new one?

Intro post time

This won't be a very full intro post, since it's end of term and I'm losing my mind.

ANYway. Hi! I'm ardatli, you may know me from such social media sites as tumblr and AO3. (Hi, ardatli!)

I'm a grad student in my final year of my PhD (God, please...), a fanfic writer, and occasionally a published author.

As far as fandom things go, I love old-school sci-fi and creepy suspense/horror, Marvel comics and cult tv. My first fandoms ever were for Forever Knight and X-Files, so that should give you a sense of my age as well (late 30s).

Right now I'm fixated on Young Avengers and the MCU, with occasional forays into the new She-Ra and Pacific Rim (though I really didn't get much out of the second movie except for the sweet new tech), and I'm chewing my fingernails down waiting for both the Captain Marvel movie and the new season of Runaways.

I'm a hetero-married bi-dyke, pedantic academic, Jewish with two kids. I play too much Pokemon Go. I'll end up posting fic here, and random media things. I can't draw, so there won't be fanart. My blog will be PG-13, or thereabouts, though my fic is often explicit.

I don't guarantee a re-follow, but if you post things that catch my interest, or I know you personally / from another site / we've hung out virtually before, I will.

Anything else I need to add?
